Stepanakert, June 29. The Chairman of the Armenian Court of Appeals Henrik Danielian, Head of its Criminal and Military Chamber Mher Khachatrian and Judge of the same Chamber Zinavor Ghoukasian visited Stepanakert. They met with President Arkady Ghoukasian. NKR Security Council Secretary Karen Baburian and the Chairman of the NKR Supreme Court Vladimir Hovsepian also participated in the meeting. They discussed reforms in the Nagorno Karabakh's judicial system. President Ghoukasian stressed that no government initiative can succeed without establishing the rule of law. The sides also discussed the possibility of training Nagorno Karabakh judges in Armenia's educational centers and opportunities for better cooperation between the judicial systems of Armenia and Nagorno Karabakh.

Deputy Mayors of Lyon Visit Stepanakert, Vow Support
Stepanakert, June 23. President Arkady Ghoukasian received the Deputy Mayors of the French city of Lyon Yvon Deschamps and Hubert Julien Laferriere. Ghoukasian briefed them on the current stage of the Karabakh conflict resolution noting that Azerbaijan is attempting to stall the negotiations. Ghukasian said that his administration is doing everything possible in order to revive the economy and improve living
conditions for Karabakh residents. Deschamps and Julien Laferriere expressed their readiness to assist the NKR government, adding that in certain cases municipalities can do more than central governments. Ghoukasian stressed the importance of strengthening democratic processes in NKR and invited the guests to monitor the upcoming presidential elections scheduled for August 11.
