Melkoumian Urges PACE To Put an End to Azerbaijani False Accusations

Prague, November 21.  President of Armenia Robert Kocharian met with the Azerbaijani President Heydar Aliyev in another of a series of bilateral meetings aimed at advancing the peaceful resolution of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.  The meeting took place in Prague on the sidelines of the NATO Summit.  Emerging from the meeting, both leaders said there was some progress in the talks.  "With every new meeting we are moving closer to a settlement", said Kocharian.  He added that they use every opportunity to meet and discuss the Nagorno Karabakh peace process.  "Despite the fact that we are entering election year in Armenia and Azerbaijan, we should not cease our contacts," said Aliyev, echoing Kocharian's remarks.  The following day, Kocharian met with the French president Jacques Chirac and dis

BRITISH PARLIAMENTARIANS VISIT NAGORNO KARABAKH CAPITAL

Newly Appointed Foreign Minister Ghoulian Interview to Mediamx

Stepanakert, November 27. Newly-appointed Foreign Minister Ashot Ghoulian gave an interview to Armenia-based Mediamax news agency.  In his interview he emphasized the importance of engaging the Nagorno Karabakh Republic's authorities in the peaceful negotiations as a full party to the conflict, a position that has been strongly supported by the U.S., Russian and French Co-Chairmen of the OSCE Minsk Group. Yerevan, October 31.  President Arkady Ghoukasian met with the Armenian Prime Minister Andranik Margarian.  They discussed some aspects of Armenia's and Nagorno Karabakh's state budgets for 2003, bilateral cooperation and other issues.  Margarian expressed hope that the newly-appointed NKR cabinet will continue to strengthen Nagorno Karabakh's statehood while ensuring democratic development, political stability and economic growth.
